Wed Jul XXI

Rained nearly all day when Mum wanted to wash all our stuff ready for Tauranga

One day back in Auckland and we were going off on our travels again, this time to visit Dad’s aunt and uncle Sheelagh and Neil (they of the bach of nightmares) at their home on the eastern shoulder of the North Island.

Gran and Grandad didn’t come with us on this trip, at least so far as I remember. I am sure that they needed a day or two to themselves after being surrounded by the rest of us for so long.

This meant that Mum had a mere six person load of washing! I am sure that she was very pleased and I am sure that I was trying to keep out from under her feet as much as humanly possible – and probably failing very badly.
